Due to the release of her all-Spanish album "Mi Plan" in two weeks, Nelly Furtado has received 2 nominations.The international hit "Manos Al Aire", her first single, has recieved a nomination for song of the year as well as video of the year.
Manos Al Aire recently reached the number one spot on Latin radio charts in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, making it a first time accomplishment for an anglo artist to chart with an original Spanish track.
MTV Latin America announced yesterday the list of nominees for this year’s Premios MTV ‘09.
The 2009 awards will take place throughout Latin America and the USA. Bogotá & Los Ángeles are the first cities to be confirmed.
The awards will air on October 15, 2009 live from Los Angeles, California. Winners will be chosen online by the fans who can log on and vote at www.MTVLA.com
“Mi Plan”, Nelly’s fourth studio album and first completely done in Spanish, will be released internationally on September 15th, 2009.
